Some events begin with a plan.

This one began with a simple desire to make a few mothers feel appreciated.

What started as a small Mother's Day gathering slowly grew into something much bigger. Families arrived together. Children ran around the venue. Fathers joined in. Neighbors met neighbors. By the end of the day, what was originally intended as a Mother's Day appreciation event had become a celebration shared by an entire community.

This year's Lungisan+ Mother's Day Special was made possible through the kindness of many people who chose to help in their own way.

Part of the funds came from the projects entrusted to Oragons Studio during the month of May. We would like to thank Mediatasks UK and BIGPAT Construction for the opportunity to work with you. A portion of the payments received from these projects helped support this community initiative and brought joy to families who continue to face daily challenges.

Twenty mothers received premium 5-kilo sacks of rice, ₱200 in cash assistance, and chicken rice meals that they were able to share with their children. Through the generosity of Mam SR, an 80-year-old mother also received additional financial assistance.

Behind every recipient was a story.

Many of the mothers who attended are widows and solo parents carrying responsibilities that often go unseen. They continue to work, provide, and make sacrifices every day to ensure their families have what they need. For many, there are no days off and very little time to think about themselves.

That was one of the reasons this gathering mattered.

Throughout the day, mothers were treated to free manicure, pedicure, haircut, and massage services. It was a small gesture, but one that allowed them to pause, relax, and simply enjoy being cared for, even if only for a few hours.

What made the day even more special was seeing entire families participate.

Children enjoyed the meals and activities. Fathers joined the gathering. Community members took advantage of the free services. Families were also able to receive pre-loved bags, shoes, and clothing donated by generous supporters.

Many of the people present had never met before.

Yet for a few hours, everyone sat together, shared meals, exchanged stories, laughed, and celebrated. There was no distinction between strangers and friends. There was only a community enjoying each other's company.

Moments like these remind us that kindness does not always have to be grand to make a difference.

A meal shared with a family.

A sack of rice carried home.

A haircut, a massage, a simple conversation.

Sometimes the things we remember most are the small reminders that we are not alone.

Life continues to be difficult for many families. Rising costs, uncertain opportunities, and daily responsibilities can feel overwhelming. Yet gatherings like this show that hope can still be found in people who choose to help, support, and encourage one another.

To everyone who donated, volunteered, provided services, and supported this event in any way, thank you.

And to every mother who joined us that day, thank you for your strength, your sacrifices, and the countless ways you care for your families.
